This week I started reading a book called Wait and See by Wendy Pope.  I’m only through the introduction and first chapter, but at this point I would highly recommend it.  It talks a lot about waiting (imagine that!) and how to trust God through it all.  At this point of my life, I’m not waiting for anything immediately.  But I am waiting to see where God leads me in the future.  I’m waiting until I graduate so that I can start the next chapter of my life.  I’m waiting until I can go back to Mozambique again.  And while I’m waiting, I’m also trying to stay present and engage in everything here.  It’s a daily struggle!

Pope brought up an interesting concept in her book.  She said that we sometimes we don’t even know that we are in the waiting period of our lives.  We don’t even realize that God is preparing something for us, and we are waiting for it.  It’s so exciting to think about all that God is arranging that I am not even aware of.  I was challenged to spend my waiting time wisely.  To be as prepared and ready as possible.  If I don’t even know when I may be waiting, I must constantly be preparing myself for whatever God may send my way.  Travelling has taught my that God moves fast, so I need to be ready and waiting for the next amazing thing that He bring my way.  I know that it’s going to be good!

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! ~ Psalm 27:14
